LifeStream Blood Bank recognizes National Philanthropy Day on Sunday, Nov. 15 by inviting fellow area nonprofits to host a future blood drive that can double as a successful fundraiser for host organizations.
For every nonprofit that hosts a LifeStream blood drive in January or February of 2021, and collects at least 20 pints of blood, LifeStream will contribute $10 per pint collected to drive hosts. Don’t delay! Blood drive must be booked by December 15, 2020.
“The COVID-19 pandemic and related shutdowns continue to affect our ability to collect blood needed to assist local patients,” said Rick Axelrod, MD, LifeStream’s president, CEO and medical director. “We’re also sensitive to the negative impact these forces have had on our fellow nonprofits, and feel this is a creative, meaningful ‘win-win’ program for our community.”
Since the outset of the pandemic, LifeStream has been forced to cancel dozens of scheduled blood drives due to closure of schools, churches and businesses. Thousands of pints of blood were unable to be collected as anticipated.
This outreach to fellow nonprofits can make life-saving differences to patients and their loved ones. We encourage all nonprofits to sign up below and host a blood drive:
