Patient services must be ordered by a physician.
Therapeutic Blood Collection
When your physician prescribes blood withdrawal to improve a medical condition it is called a therapeutic collection. One common therapeutic procedure LifeStream performs is Hereditary Hemochromatosis (also known primary hemochromatosis) draws.
Autologous or Directed Blood Donation
Volunteer blood donations are safe to be transfused to the majority of patients; however, on occasion, a patient may need a directed or autologous donation
A directed donor is someone who has been named by the patient and the patient’s doctor to donate for the patient’s transfusion needs.
An autologous donation is when a patient donates for themselves for an upcoming surgery.
