A board-certified clinical pathologist, Dr. Axelrod received his medical degree and performed his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology training at Emory University School of Medicine and Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta, GA. He also completed a fellowship in transfusion medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA and acquired his MBA at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. He has served as the chief medical officer for Indiana Blood Center and Senior Director/Division Head, Medical and Clinical Affairs with Abbott Laboratories Diagnostic Division in Abbott Park, IL and has worked in transfusion medicine since 1987. He serves on the boards of directors for Desert Regional Medical Center and Coachella Valley Economic Partnership.
Dr. Le received his medical degree from and finished his pathology residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine; he completed his blood banking/transfusion medicine fellowship at Hartford Hospital (Hartford, CT) in 1999. He is board-certified in clinical pathology and blood banking/transfusion medicine. Dr. Le previously served as the chief medical officer at the Oklahoma Blood Institute, VP of Medical Affairs at Bonfils Blood Center (Denver, CO), and medical director of the transfusion services at Denver Health Medical Center.
Scott has more than 25 years’ experience in the healthcare field and has served as chief financial officer for organizations recording up to $1 billion in annual revenues. He joined LifeStream in October 2010 and has overseen all finance and purchasing functions, and plays a key role in contractual matters. He was named to his new position in April 2017 and has assumed responsibilities for Human Resources and Community and Corporate Relations. Scott received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Missionary College in Tennessee and his MBA from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.
Michelle has 20 years’ experience in the field of blood banking and has served in executive leadership positions throughout her career. She has served as Vice President, Technical Operations for Memorial Blood Centers in Minneapolis, MN and Vice President, Corporate and Community Resources for Carter BloodCare in Bedford, TX. Michelle joined LifeStream in February 2020 and assumed responsibilities for donor recruitment, donor collections, manufacturing and hospital services. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and has served on the boards of directors for the Association of Donor Recruitment Professionals and Foundation for America’s Blood Centers. Michelle received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Superior and her MBA from Texas Christian University.
Julianna began her career with LifeStream in 1995 as a mobile staff nurse. In 2005 she was promoted to Manager, Donor Center Operations, overseeing all of the activities for LifeStream’s donor centers. When her duties expanded to include leadership of LifeStream’s telephone recruitment of blood donors function she was promoted to Director, Donor Center Operations. In 2008, Julianna was promoted to Vice President, Technical Operations. In 2017, she was named to her present position as Vice President, Technical and Clinical Affairs, leading Information Services, Therapeutic Apheresis, Clinical Services, Medical Surveillance and the National Marrow Donor Program.
Bob joined LifeStream in February 2012 as Project Director for Quality Assurance. He has an extensive leadership background in the blood banking industry. Senior executive posts include National Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for HemaCare Corporation; CEO for the American Red Cross National Testing Laboratory in San Diego, CA; and Regional Quality Assurance Manager for Blood Systems, Inc., located at Blood Centers of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA. Bob earned his MBA at Loyola College, Baltimore, MD and his bachelor’s degree in medical technology from State University of New York at Buffalo.
