LifeStream presents a $2,500 check to Wings For Ewing Sarcoma
In March, LifeStream was proud to present a $2,500 check to Wings For Ewing Sarcoma, a nonprofit founded by professional ballerina Chiara Valley and her mother, Sandra.
This would not have been possible without Ellen and Cassi Tichy. In 2017, LifeStream held a blood drive at Hemet High School in honor of Cassi. We made it a challenge for the students. If over 200 pints were collected, LifeStream would donate $10 a unit towards a nonprofit of Cassi’s choice. They were successful, but unfortunately, Cassi passed away after a battle with Ewing Sarcoma before she and her mother could choose a nonprofit.
Since then, Ellen has become one of our best volunteer recruiters for our San Jacinto Stater Bros. blood drive we conduct monthly. Ellen is always bringing in new donors and promoting the drive. Since her daughter’s passing, Ellen made contact with the incredible nonprofit Wings for Ewing Sarcoma. The $2,000 Ellen and Cassi raised from the Hemet High School drives plus the $500 Ellen has raised since was donated to Wings for Ewing Sarcoma.
LifeStream Vice President of Operations Michelle Johnson, Director of Donor Operations Thresa Lozano, Manager of Donor Recruitment Tony Holder, and Regional Account Manager Susanne Boswell, presented the check to Ellen, Chaira, and Sandra in honor of Cassi Tichy.
